Life Technologies, a global biotechnology tools company that provides premier systems, consumables and services for scientific researchers worldwide, hired NRM to install Remote Site Manager (RSM) in its 11 environmental rooms and product storage areas, as well retrofit 138 evaporator fans with more efficient EC motors. Prior to the start of the project, NRM estimated savings at 622,000 kWh – actual measured savings were 650,000 kWh – 5% great than originally estimated.*
Since installing RSM in their Carlsbad location, NRM has also retrofitted the company’s Austin, Texas facility. “We could not be more excited about the information that this system provides,” says Shawn Clarke, Life Technologies Facilities Supervisor. “Throughout our facility, we have numerous walk-in coolers and freezers of varying sizes, all with 100% redundancy. Mechanical issues with our refrigeration systems have all been picked up through the RSM system, saving valuable time and money on compressor replacements and troubleshooting.”
