NRM Success Story
Albert's Organics
Multiple Locations Across USA
Albert's Organics not only greatly improved the efficiency of their refrigeration system, but they also gained capabilities to better manage its operation. NRM provided a full-service solution they now can't live without.
What They Needed
The management team at Albert’s Organics had two main goals they wanted to achieve as they researched ways to continue to enhance operational improvements: bolster their toolset for food safety oversight and optimize their equipment to run more efficiently. The initial need was for a new facility built in Charlotte, NC.
In particular, they wanted to know if anything could be done with their critical refrigeration systems. Due to the perishable nature of their products, their facilities operated with multiple redundancies to ensure safe temperatures were always maintained. While effective at keeping their produce at necessary temps, it was very inefficient. So specific refrigeration controls piqued their interest.
And whatever the solution was, it had to be both user-friendly easy to integrate.
WHAT NRM PROVIDED
NRM was able to immediately and clearly deliver on the improvements they promised. In fact, the team at Albert’s was so impressed with the project at the Charlotte facility, they then implemented similar solutions at their facility in New Jersey in 2012, and at their facility in California in 2017.
From an efficiency standpoint, the energy gains the solution delivered went beyond their expectations. Across their three locations, they were able to recoup over one million kWh per year without jeopardizing the integrity of their produce. Runtimes were reduced by an average of 60%, which also helped them save on their Peak Usage costs.
Remote Site Manager™, the powerful backbone of the solution, has radicalized their ability to adhere to their strict food safety & quality standards. Controlling and monitoring all of their systems in real-time, the platform delivers timely, actionable alerts for temperature issues or mechanical problems instantly via email or text; automatically tracks, logs, and collates historical temperature and operational data for USDA regulatory compliance; and provides unique visual diagnostics to pinpoint what, when, and where an issue began.
It has essentially removed the human-error element from product safety.

Avoid food safety crises with a wealth of operational data and proactive insights
Whether you have 1 cold space in a single school kitchen, or 100 cold spaces spread across an entire district, our live summary page gives you an immediate overview of all your cooling activity.
Quickly consult current and 7-day runtimes, cooling status, temperature settings, and address any alarms that have been triggered.
Consider the amount of time and effort you’d save by having critical operational info all conveniently in one place.
Arm yourself with powerful and unique visual diagnostics graphs to pinpoint exactly when and where an operating issue arises. Troubleshooting becomes more efficient and effective, helping to ensure the issue is resolved on the first technician visit.
The graphs show important but often overlooked components such as amperages, compressor cycles, the solenoid valve, and things like whether a door is open or not.
The monitoring platform offers transparent runtime and temperature data that provide the measurement and verification proof for accurate recordkeeping.
These graphs also allow you to actually see how much less energy your refrigeration system is using. While also tracking that safe temperatures are always met.
Store up to 10 years of operational logs that take the human-error component out of tracking temperatures.
Going beyond a high temperature alert — which occurs only after an issue has already disrupted operations — NRM’s platform provides a suite of early detection notifications to help you be more proactive with troubleshooting.
For example, a compressor that’s short cycling will still likely be able to cool the space, but it’s dangerous, unnoticed overuse could lead to a critical system failure, jeopardizing the entire cooler’s worth of food.
