Stateline Paysaver has slashed their electric bill by roughly $3,000 per year. In the 20 years they've had NRM’s solution, they've recouped roughly $60,000 in profits—and nearly 560,000 kWh—that otherwise would've been spent on energy use.
You wouldn’t use something for 20 years that wasn’t actually helping you, and neither would Steve Dardas, manager at Stateline Paysaver in Salem, NH. They’ve been a long-time customer of NRM’s, having NRM’s controls since around 2001 and updating to the newest version in 2018.
Not only have they seen a significant amount of energy savings in all that time, but NRM’s solutions really do make life easier for them.
“I like having total control over our walk-in,” Mr. Dardas said.
He’s seen how impactful making adjustments throughout the year based around our controls’ capabilities, such as raising the set temperature a few degrees during a heat wave so the system doesn’t have to work so hard. Or utilizing the timed shutdown feature during deliveries so he doesn’t have to worry about anyone messing with his evaporator fans.
They also added NRM’s web-based solution designed for small businesses — RSM Lite — with their 2018 update, which now gave them the ability to control and monitor temperatures from their computer or smartphone, preemptive alerts if there is an issue with their compressor or evaporator coils, and unique diagnostics to arm their refrigeration tech with when they troubleshoot.
And the financials of the project were another positive, as well. At the time, they received a 30% incentive from their utility provider for implementing refrigeration energy-efficiency measures, which created only a 2-year payback on their initial upfront investment. From the time they were 100% cash-flow positive to now, NRM’s measures have saved them around $60,000!
